On Sunday, June 1, over 350 guests gathered to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s 3rd Annual “Claws for Kids” fundraising brunch at Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach. At the event, $100,000 gross was raised.
Proceeds will benefit the after school and summer camp programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s state-of-the-art South Beach Club, scheduled to open this August. Guests generously opened their wallets to Sponsor a Child, and raised over $17,600, including the generosity of Ocean Bank as the program’s $7,500 Matching Sponsor.
Guests enjoyed delicious stone crabs and other signature Joe’s cuisine at the renowned restaurant, which opened for brunch only for supporters of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s “Claws for Kids.”
Alfonso Macedo, president of Ocean Bank, a longtime supporting organization of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, and his wife Miriam Macedo, were honored with Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s “From the Heart Award.” Frank Sinatra impersonator Jeff Grainer of Sinatra Sounds provided entertainment. Showcasing/selling their pieces on site were Damiani, Kristin Pearce Designs, Santayana Jewelers and Soler Jewelers.
