Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Hosted its 57th Annual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles “Bebe” Rebozo on Monday, March 11

The Event Raised Over $290K for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Youth Development Programs

Miami, Fla. – March 14, 2024 – Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade once again hosted its highly anticipated 57th Annual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles “Bebe” Rebozo all ‘fore’ a good cause. The event took place at Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables on Monday, March 11. The event sold out once again and raised over $290K that will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s services and programs at its six Clubs and sites combined which provide educational after-school programs, tutoring and homework assistance, STEM, social skills, dance, arts and crafts, mentoring and summer and athletic programs for area youth who need them the most. These programs help children realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. 

The tournament offered 144 players the chance to play for fun or at a competitive level while raising much-needed funds. The scramble-style tournament commenced with a shotgun. Players enjoyed lunch courtesy of Hooters, Edda’s Cake Design and Café la Llave. Florida’s own Tank Beer Brewing Co., the official beer sponsor of the tournament, was served all day throughout the course and during the banquet. Players enjoyed on-the-go snacks on the course, including Hooter’s famous wings, boneless chicken wings, hot dogs, fries, and burgers. Shaw Ross International and Ron Barceló rum, the official wine and spirits sponsors served cocktails all day throughout the course and during the banquet and awards ceremony.

Guests had the opportunity to participate in various activities and additional fundraising contests at different holes. 

At hole one, golfers enjoyed espresso coffee from Café La Llave and cigars from La Flor Dominicana Cigars. At hole six, players had the chance to participate in a hole-in-two contest with famous long driver Bobby Bradley and at hole eight players played Closest to the Pin and at hole 14 players participated in the Longest Drive contest. At hole ten, Hooter’s hosted a game of dice and at. At the end of hole 15, there was a driving range and at hole 16, players played Hole in One courtesy Doral Automotive Group for a chance to win a one-year lease of a 2024 Corsair.

The day concluded with an awards ceremony and buffet dinner, featuring a live raffle inside Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club’s banquet hall. Raffle prizes included golf aficionado items, restaurant gift certificates, tickets to sporting events and more. All golfers received a complimentary sponsor-branded swag bag with a sponsor-branded tumbler, golf towel, golf balls and Tito’s Mini vodka bottles.
